These bozos are going to design and build a high-tech house?

Desi, myself (Philip) and our 10 year-old son Hristo (Itska) are, on the surface, a fairly normal family of three living on the outer edges of Europe in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria and one of Europe’s most ancient and historically-significant settlements.

There are a few differences, however. Our relationship started out several years ago, as a long-distance romantic triangle, between London, Sofia and EasyJet.

It was fun, but frustrating – something had to give if we were to be together permanently.

So we decided in the end that I would up sticks and move to Sofia – which, to be honest, wasn’t that much of a stretch for me as I was (not unlike a lot of other Brits), becoming increasingly jaded about life the UK and had never much cared for the climate anyway!

Desi works a a manager for a large US tech corporation and I, having worked in similar large firms for years, am in the throes of starting up a small business – something I’ve always wanted to do.

Itska? Well, he just wants to be a rock star.
